Image Editing - The Positive Effects

Some frown at the idea of post-editing.  They argue that it is "cheating" and that you need to get the image right first time in-camera.  I don't disagree with that, indeed there are many amateurs out there, and some professionals even, who rely heavily on post-editing simply to cover over their errors.  But, at the same time, there are some situations that you simply can't always get right first time and some work is later required on the resulting image.

The Wedding Photo Album

It seems that these days, with the onslaught of technology, photography has taken on a whole different meaning.  Don't get me wrong, I love the digital photography age, it's quick, easy and cheap when compared to the days of film, but it does have a rather sinister side to it, one that undervalues the true meaning of a photograph.

Black and White Wedding Photography

The world is awash with colour, but when used correctly, the black & white photograph adds a special mood to a particular setting.  Here are some examples where I have used black & white in wedding photography, along with some of my reasons for doing so:
